We have a position available for a Traffic Design Drafter to join our growing team. We are looking for someone with a high level of AutoCAD expertise with prior experience in the traffic/transport sector.
You will be involved in a range of exciting major high-profile projects throughout Australia preparing concept, functional and detailed design plans of various traffic and parking systems under the guidance of industry leaders and senior directors.
To be successful in this role we are specifically looking for the following key requirements:
Exceptional skills using AutoCAD (2D) software is mandatory.
Prior experience with geometric roads, intersection and car park designs is mandatory.
Some familiarisation or prior experience using relevant standards such as MUTCD, Austroads and Australian Standards.
Prior experience in QLD gained in either local or state government, or ideally a consultancy firm will be highly regarded.
Previous experience with vehicle swept path simulation software (AutoTURN/AutoTRACK) will be highly regarded.
You must be self-motivated and have the ability to priorities workloads and work independently with limited supervision.
Have an outgoing positive can-do attitude and ability to solve problems independently.
You will be involved in a wide range of design projects from concept through to detail design. This will include but not limited to:
General road geometry and traffic lane configuration plans.
Intersection improvement designs.
Site access and loading area designs.
Major on-street and off-street car parking and passenger drop off/pick up designs.
Construction workzones and loading area designs.
General signs and line marking plans.
Vehicle swept path analysis plans.
Traffic management plans and traffic guidance schemes.
Temporary road safety barrier design plans.
You will also be required to attend some local sites to obtain field measurements, carry out traffic observations/surveys, and meet with clients.
It is anticipated that you will manage your own projects and workloads and, in some cases, have direct contact with clients, road authorities and other key stakeholders.
